Day 19 :: Sounding
Compliments of @wiinonaofelia

Do you struggle to voice your desires?

We’re so often taught to keep ourselves quiet. We are told being loud is too much. Often voicing our pleasure is shamed. Or perhaps if you do voice your desires, or even a NO, it isn’t honored.

So how can we use our voice and sound to create more pleasure?

One of the biggest hurdles to overcome around sx and pleasure is allowing yourself to express what you want, allowing your authentic sound, needs, and desires to be heard.

The routes @wiinonaofelia suggests to help liberate sound are:

1. Speak out loud. Get used to your desires being voiced, either via solo or coupled intimacy. This is how we merge the primal and sensory experience with the cortical and thinking experience.
If solo: Ask yourself: how would I like to feel pleasure right now? Respond out loud, let your body know it is safe to voice & feel this pleasure.
If with a partner: sit down and face each other, making sure you’re both comfortable. Take turns asking each other, “What do you really want?” Give approximately 30 seconds to answer. Receive each answer without judgment. Continue for as long as you like. This helps to build trust and intimacy.

2. Sounding to surrender for orgasm. When we experience pleasure and get to a peak point before orgasm we often end up restricting and tensing our body, either out of shame or habit. But we can actually use sound to help us reach more pleasure. How? By feeling into our sensate experience, tuning into whatever arises, and allowing sound to be expressed. Allow yourself to play with what pleasure sounds like in embodied form. Is it guttural, deep, high-pitched, shaky, smooth, airy, nasally?

BONUS: Sounding supports your vagal tone, activating your parasympathetic nervous system, ultimately helping your body to feel more calm and allowing deeper surrender!

So give it a try. What do you have to say?
