Day 12 :: Facial Massage
Compliments of @kaktusrose_coaching
Incorporating a daily face massage is an invigorating way to release tension and tap into your pleasure. Facial muscles are incredibly active and prone to overuse. They have fascial and muscular connections to the neck, head, and even pelvic floor. This means that mental stress and pelvic pain/dysfunction can be held in the face!
Aside from stress relief, a facial massage can help to improve lymphatic blood flow, stimulate feel good hormones, and improve elasticity and collagen production, lifting the skin.
Facial Massage Practice:
Lovingly, set aside at least three minutes for yourself. You are worthy of receiving this beautiful gift of self care.
Have your tools ready, whether it’s your hands, use of a gua sha, or facial rolling device.
Have a good quality facial oil on hand. I personally love the sea buckthorn and jojoba based cleansing oil from @naturalfacebible
Press your fingers between your brows and slide up your forehead, repeating several times to cover the entire area.
Then, massage your fingertips from the center of your face out past your cheeks and to your ears.
Drop one level lower and repeat the same sliding, up-and-out motion across your jawline as needed.
For an added treat, allow your fingers to linger onto your head and proceed into a delicious scalp massage.
Finish with your neck. Gently use vertical strokes from the collarbone upward. You can also follow the sternocleidomastoid muscle from the collar bone to the base of the skull (often a huge point of tension).
